S2S Civic Series #1 – Freedom of Speech Workshop

As part of Seek to Speak’s bid to help create concerned citizens who are empathetic, informed, and motivated, we will be holding monthly workshops for youths on various civic-related topics.

Using resources from the Economist Educational Foundation, our founder, Ain Aissa, will kickstart this series with our first civic workshop about Freedom of Speech.

In the first hour of the workshop, you will be learning on:
– the importance of your right to speak,
– what censorship looks like, and
– the implications of harmful language.

The last 30 minutes of the workshop is optional and is dedicated to participants who would like to deliver their thoughts and opinions on the subject through a guided discussion.

This workshop is intended to be interactive and participants are encouraged to respond to questions posed via the chat box or their mics. In the last 30 minutes, participants are expected to verbally communicate with each other. While turning on your video is not necessary, it is highly encouraged.
