Seek to Speak Special: 12 Malaysians Talk Mental Health

In conjunction with World Mental Health Day, Seek to Speak is releasing a two-part special all about Mental Health. This is the biggest episode we have made so far and consists of 12 average Malaysians with various backgrounds talking about their perception, understanding, and experiences with mental health.

Hear how 30-year-old Keeran copes with his anxiety, how 10-year-old Meiling perceive mental health, how Jerry supports his wife who has ADHD, how sisters, Ariel and Amy, deal with school stress – and many more! Listen to them talk about how they cope with their stress, anxiety, and emotions. Some rely on their families for comfort while others seek professional help. Hear how loved ones act as sources of comfort to others, and what difficulties they face with this role.

The aim of this 2-part special is to normalise conversations on mental health in order to destigmatize the issue. With insights from co-founders of two amazing mental health initiatives, @mindakami and @reachout.to.you, we hope to open up minds and hearts on the topic of mental health.

Remember to check-in to someone you love, practice a bit of self-care, and be kind to yourself and to others as well! Also, don’t forget to share this podcast with someone you know who may need it or to your friends and family in order to raise awareness!
